War: Iran Supreme Leader, Khamenei gives condition for peace deal with US



 Iran Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has stated that the peace deal between Tehran and Washington is dependent on Israel ceasing its assaults on Lebanon.

Khamenei expressed this view in a post on X on Sunday, saying, “Iran has designated the preservation of Lebanon’s territorial integrity, and the absolute, unconditional termination of the Zionist regime’s aggression as the primary condition for any agreement to end the imposed war against the aggressive US.”

Khamenei expressed his support for the Lebanese group Hezbollah, its former leader Hassan Nasrallah, and the residents of southern Lebanon, who are the primary targets of Israel’s attacks, in a series of posts.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran regards the defense of these oppressed yet resilient mujahideen [of Hezbollah] as its strategic obligation,” Khamenei remarked.

His comments came amid reports of a cessation of attacks and renewed diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States.

Tehran has maintained that Israel must halt its strikes on Lebanon as a prerequisite for Iran to conclude the conflict with the US, formalizing this demand in the first clause of the memorandum of understanding signed with Washington in June.

However, the agreement has since deteriorated due to a disagreement over the Strait of Hormuz.
